After having a significant lead just two months ago Joe Biden is now on the decline. A new CNN poll shows Biden at 50% and Trump at 43% in the national poll. That is a huge drop-off from what was a 14 point for Biden just two months ago per CNN. What must be noted is that this is a poll of registered voters which definitely spells trouble for Biden. Among independents, CNN's poll shows Biden with only a 1 point lead, 46 to 45. Keep in mind this is with all of the pandemic coverage and BLM protests.
It could be true that Kamala Harris is actually bringing Biden's poll numbers down. I have stated that Harris is not respected in the African-American community and has a track record that will haunt her for the rest of her political career. Joe Biden's constant gaffs and hiccups when speaking about or to the African-American community does not help either. Oh, but it gets worse. The same CNN poll shows Biden is not doing so well amongst Latinos either. Hillary Clinton was plus 38% against Trump while Biden is plus 26% against Trump. Well, we all know what happened on election night in November 2016. I'm not saying it is a foregone conclusion that Trump wins but I can now say I understand why Democrats are making this new story about Trump stealing mailboxes. It all makes sense now. We can see why the last thing Democrats want is actually election where people go to the polls to cast their votes.
The “Independent Sentinal” is making the claim that Bernie Bros are calling Black people in the South uneducated and unqualified to vote.
One the so-called Bernie Bros said this: “It’s not racist” to say black voters are “low information.” Another called black voters “low IQ monkeys.”
I personally think this is more likely to be some rightwing trolls posing as liberals that are trying to divide the Democratic party. In other words, this is fake news!
It seems as if this is just another attempt by conservatives to make all liberals look racist. Of course, now that Bernie is clear front runner and inches closer to becoming the democratic nominee, conservatives have shifted their focus to Sanders and have begun to try to discredit him in every way possible.
There have been a recent barrage of incidents of rightwing trolls posing as progressives, flagging Youtube and Twitch accounts. David Pakman has exposed a fake legal representative of CBS News that flagged his Twitch account during the democratic presidential debate in South Carolina.
Lindsey Graham claims President Trump had no idea he was breaking the rules when he withheld aid from Ukraine. Graham, admits that he knows Ukraine did not interfere with the 2016 presidential election and that it was, in fact, Russia that meddled with the election. Graham would then pivot, moving the conversation over the Bidens, while getting the heat off of Trump.
I can clearly understand why Democrats wanted to impeach President Trump, it goes without saying. Nancy Pelosi did not want to impeach Trump and she had a good reason not to. Pelosi understood that it could backfire on Democrats in polls. Well, she was right.
The recent polls show that Trump's approval rating has gone up a bit since Pelosi and house democrats moved to start an impeachment inquiry. Even with all of the accusations directed towards Trump he still has the support of his base and some polls have Trump's approval rating as high as 46 to 49 percent.
The latest polls indicate that Trump's base will not budge and if anything the impeachment inquiry will likely cause the GOP to rally around the President.
I believe the rally cry to protect Trump by Republicans was Pelosi's biggest fear.
Unfortunately for the Democrats, there does not seem to be a Presidential candidate that can separate from the rest of the pack and become the overwhelming frontrunner.
Kamala Harris has been exposed for her record as a prosecutor in the state of California. Her record has been her biggest hurdle since she announced she was running President. The Black community has held her accountable for her record to the point where her message has fallen on deaf ears.
On the debate stage, moderator Linsey Davis addressed the elephant in the room.
Davis called out Harris for opposing the legalization of marijuana and then changing her mind after putting her bid in for President. The big one for me was Linsey Davis called Kamala Harris out for opposing outside investigations of police shootings.
In a time when police departments all across the country have been exposed as being corrupt, outside investigations are the only solutions to even having a chance at exposing the illegal activities within law enforcement. I would argue that at this point someone needs to police the police.
Kamala Harris has locked so many black men for possession of marijuana and their lives have been ruined. Once you have a criminal record, it stays with you. What's even worse is being incarcerated under false pretense because of a crooked police officer. Outside investigations into police shootings is a no brainer. I don't know what Harris was thinking at the time when she opposed it but it has come back to haunt her.
Donald Trump is pushing to get rapper ASAP Rocky out of jail in Sweden. Melania Trump said last week that she will be working with the State Department to see if they can help free the rapper and sent back to the U.S. ASAP Rocky was arrested last month after he got into a fight with a man in Sweden, whom Rocky claimed was following him. Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are also advocating for Trump to help out the jailed rapper.
President Trump called on Sweden to "Treat Americans fairly!"
"We do so much for Sweden but it doesn't seem to work the other way around. Sweden should focus on its real crime problem! #FreeRocky," President Trump Tweeted
In a recent podcast, I noted how this is a good move for Trump politically, following the backlash from Trump's attacks on the four congresswomen, which has led many people to label Trump a racist. Helping out a Black entertainer will help Trump come across as being sympathetic to minorities. Of course this in no ways excuses Trump’s attacks, nor does it make him a non-racist. However, in the world of politics, this is the kind of media attention that President Trump needs.
It seems as if the Black vote has become the key to the White House again. Trump proved in 2016, he did not need the Black vote or any other minorities to be real about it. Trump proved that all he needs is a bunch of pissed off White people, that feel like Obama was the worst thing that happened to White America.
Hillary Clinton loss the 2016, election because she was not able to click with Black people. Joe Biden has been put on the hot seat for his vote on busing in the '70s. Mayor Pete Buttigieg made an appearance at "Essence Festival" where he spoke on many issues concerning the Black Community. Mayor Pete Buttigieg is still trying to recover from the backlash coming from the Black community after a police officer shot a Black man without having his body cam on.
It has become clear that Republican candidates don't need the Black vote but the Democrats not only need the Black vote but they live and die by it.
U.S Senator and Presidential Candidate Kamala Harris has come under fire lately after she called out former Vice President Joe Biden during the Democratic Debates.
But she is not being criticized so much by the right-wing conservatives or even White Nationalists for that matter. Kamla Harris's worst critics have come from the Black community.
Harris has been called out online by a number of Black people for her record as a state prosecutor in California. Many have claimed that she has put her fair share of Black men in prison. To be fair to Kamala Harris she was a prosecutor and her job was to find evidence and present it to the courts. The Black community is unforgiving in this matter and have labeled Harris a sell-out.
Oddly enough, many political pundits are praising Harris as the winner of the first debate. Some pundits actually believe Kamala Harris can be a viable opponent to take on front runner Joe Biden. However, losing the Black community is not going to bode well for Kamala Harris and the more people dig into her background, Harris may end up more on the defensive than she originally planned to be.
